It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Get your favourite festive sweater on, get cozy with some hot chocolate, and enjoy a fun holiday movie to get in the Christmas spirit as you wait for Santa to deliver the presents!

Here are a few favourites to get you started:

Love Actually

Are you ready for the best rom-com ensemble movie of all time? Love Actually follows different storylines that interlink on Christmas Day, in the magical city of London. The movie will make you laugh, and might even make you tear up a little. Between swooning over Hugh Grant, and being star-struck by Keira Knightley, the extremely talented cast puts forth an iconic performance, that will not only raise your festive spirit, but make you realize, that love, actually is all around.

Home Alone

Gather your family for this one folks! It’s a classic you do not want to miss. Following our favorite eight-year-old Kevin, and his interesting Christmas when he is accidentally left behind by his family. As Kevin tries to fight off two bumbling burglars and embarks on his Christmas adventure in this hilarious comedy, we are all reminded of the childlike innocence we all possess within. It would not be Christmas without Kevin McCallister.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone

Not a traditional Christmas film, but often watched around Christmastime, to revive the magic surrounding the festive season. People strive to play it at the right time on Christmas Eve, to hear Ron say, “Merry Christmas, Harry!” just on time. No better way to enter Christmas. Harry Potter’s first year at Hogwarts brings friendship, adventure, and nostalgia alive. And you know what they say, once you start the first one, you must watch ‘em all!

The Grinch

Jim Carrey’s Grinch is one for the ages. There is no better comedy to be watched on Christmas. Hopefully not on Christmas, but we all relate to the Grinch in one way or another. The movie makes you laugh and makes you remember the importance of the people close to you on Christmas. Only one question to ask before having a Grinch watch party: But WHAT WOULD I WEAR?

Klaus

Less popular perhaps, but one of the best animated Christmas movies ever made. Taking you all the way back to the legend of Santa Claus, the tale wonderfully uncovers the mystery, while delivering a tale full of heart, life, humor, and just love. Perfect for the little ones in the family, but if I’m being honest, I can rewatch this one countless times.

On a day as special as Christmas, it doesn’t matter what you watch, if you’re with the people you love, somehow that day under the tree is just as special every year!
